The Forum for Ethics and Responsibility (FER) and the Office of the Peruvian Andean parliamentary Alberto Adrianzén, within the framework of the Summit of the parties for climate change - COP 20 and the People’s Summit tackle climate change, convened this meeting.
This is a closed meeting for dialogue among about 35 people, government officials, lawmakers, community leaders and professionals from civil society, from various countries around what kind of responsibility the world needs to address climate change and advance towards a new global environmental governance.
We believe that the spaces for dialogue between different actors, civil and public, from different countries and continents, it is crucial to think and build a new global governance that is desirable and legitimate.
On this occasion, we reflect on the concept of responsibility, which has objectively gained increasing legitimacy space in discussions and statements, but claims to be specified more precisely to serve effectively to the current environmental and civilizational crisis response.
We previously guide discussions on the basis of the "Lima Manifest" written by Pierre Calame and reflects the collective thinking of FER in these critical and pressing issues in today’s world.
