Hendrik Opdebeeck is professor of philosophy and ethics at the University of Antwerp where he is affiliated with the Centre for Ethics. He studied philosophy and economics at the Universities of Leuven and Ghent where he obtained his doctorate (Ph D) with a dissertation on the polyparadigmatic discourse in economics (1985). His research interest is focused on the cultural-philosophical backgrounds and effects of globalisation and technology. In 2000 with Luc Bouckaert (KULeuven) he founded the Spes-forum for Spirituality in Economics and Society where he intensively stimulates the articulation of a European network for meaningfulness in economics and society. Opdebeeck collaborates with the Forum of Ethics & Responsiblities since 2010.
